EVP

To be perfectly honest, I was a skeptic who did not think that EVP had a paranormal basis for a long time. Only in the past few years have I realized the potential of EVP. I originally thought that EVP were just sound waves traveling endlessly through time that happened to get caught by recorders. It was about five years ago that I changed my way of thinking. I actually started listening to recorded EVP and realized they were not just random words. They answer questions, or address specific people present.

My first "Whoa!" moment with EVP was when I discovered George Meeks recordings of Dr. Konstantin Raudive, which can be found at http://www.worlditc.org/ (ITC is short for instrumental transcommunication.) And since that time I have been present at several successful sessions.

How does EVP work? I have no idea. But it does, and it is an area I would like to see much more research into.

Ouija Boards

To date, I have had the most success in contacting the paranormal with the use of a Ouija board. Although most modern Ouija boards are made by Parker Brothers and available at Toys R Us, it is not a game. There are very real dangers involved with incorrect or irresponsible use of a Ouija board.

Ouija board sessions are called séances, and that is what they are meant to be. Just as with any séance, all participants must enter into it with a good attitude and a serious mind. In my experience, any spirit, or ghost, may come through on the board. This is why I feel you should always be very specific about whom you wish to talk to. Even then, some mischievous spirits may pretend to be who you are looking for. That is where control questions come in handy. I also can sense a different feel to the planchette when familiar contacts are speaking.

Although I am most successful with Ouija boards when absolutely no electronics are on, I hope to capture EVP during a session in the future.

Finally, Ghosts

We all have our own idea of what ghosts are, and everyone, including skeptics, has their own stories about experiences they cant explain.

I dont remember my first ghost experience; they have just always been there like everyone else. My first visual sighting was when I was in college and had a half apparition visit me as I was house cleaning. My most recent was a little more bizarre.

I was home alone and had just gotten in the shower when I saw the distinct shape of a man standing in the doorway. Somehow, this didnt alarm me, I actually felt revitalized. Throughout the following week, this image would not leave my mind. I was constantly thinking to myself, who was that? Fraught for answers, I called a friend that I seem to get the best Ouija connection with and asked her to visit so I could ask. Her husband took down notes during the session, and at the time I thought the answers were a bit cryptic. Re-reading them, the same thing kept coming up over and over again. I needed to find my friend Kyle that I had not talked to in a few years. Kyle was one of my best friends during my college years, and we had kept in touch since then by taking turns calling each other about once every year or two. This event prompted me to try to find out where he was. It took a few days, but I discovered that Kyle had suffered an aneurism and died. After learning this, the notes from the session made sense. It was Kyle I saw and spoke to through the board. He was someone who used to attend séances with me, and he knew I had success with them; it only made sense that he chose to contact me that way. At first I questioned why he didnt just make it clear who he was at the session, but I realize that I probably wouldnt have believed him and dismissed it as a mischievous spirit and left it at that without trying to find him.

Equipment
